On January 10, 2025, St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology successfully hosted Junior Technex 2.0, aiming to ignite innovation and foster a culture of lifelong learning among students from grades 7 to 11. The event attracted over 1,000 students from more than 20 schools, providing a platform for young minds to showcase their talents and creativity. The Chief guest for event was Dr. Mrunalini Dasture, Principal, Southern Point School Nagpur.
Event Highlights
This year's Junior Technex introduced a series of dynamic events designed to challenge and inspire participants:
- Project-O-Mania: Eighty teams presented innovative projects across diverse themes, including Science and Innovation, Agriculture, Health and Wellness, and Invention and Design were 70+ teams participated in the event.
- Horizon: Over 90 teams tested their engineering and design skills by constructing model bridges using popsicle sticks.
- Tech-Extempore: Participants enhanced their critical thinking and public speaking abilities through impromptu speeches on various topics.
In addition to these returning events, three new competitions were introduced:
- Junior Hackathon: A platform for presenting innovative ideas to solve real-world challenges, encouraging feasible, practical, and impactful solutions through out-of-the-box thinking.
- Junior Olympiad: An event designed to boost analytical and logical reasoning abilities, where students competed in a structured and challenging Olympiad.
- Junior Parliament: An interactive parliamentary session that provided life skills education, focusing on leadership, negotiation, and teamwork as participants debated policies and proposed solutions to critical issues.
Workshops
To further enrich the participants' experience, the following workshops were conducted:
- Vehicle Manufacturing: An exploration into the fundamentals of designing and building vehicles.
- Grow & Glow: A Personality Boost: A workshop dedicated to personality development, aimed at enhancing communication, confidence, and leadership skills.
Junior Technex 2025 concluded with the distribution of prizes totaling up to ₹1.5 Lakhs. Additionally, educational robot kits valued at up to ₹2,000 were awarded to the winners, recognizing their exceptional contributions and innovative ideas.The event was a resounding success, reflecting the college's commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
